Handyman Rates and FAQ
Here are the answers to a handyman's most frequently asked questions. This is where you can find information about my rates, invoicing, scheduling, availability, and more.
Rates
For projects where the scope is evolving, rates will be billed hourly. Hourly rates start at $40 per hour. Generally, jobs are scheduled in 4- or 8-hour increments.

When possible, quotes will be given in advance. Many of these projects are billed at a flat rate (i.e., installations, upgrades, certain types of repairs, etc.) or by the square foot (i.e., tile, paint and stain, etc.).

Sometimes I run discounts or specials for certain projects or locations—be sure to ask when you book!
Billing Details
HOURLY
Most hourly jobs are billed in half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) increments. For projects that involve troubleshooting, evaluation, or those where the scope is evolving, jobs, clients may be billed for actual hours worked (rounded up to the nearest hour).
QUOTES
For projects with a defined scope (i.e., installations, upgrades, renovations, etc.), quotes will be given in advance. If, in the course of work, it is determined that the quoted rate needs to be adjusted, the client will be notified before work continues.

MATERIALS
Clients will be billed for any materials used specifically for their project (i.e., paint, spackle, lumber, siding, etc.). If a client requests that I pick up the materials, a $20 trip fee will be assessed. When applicable, hauling and disposal fees may also be applied.
Invoicing
Invoices are sent upon completion of a project and will include labor, charges for materials, and any additional fees (such as disposal or material pickup). All invoices are due upon receipt.

For large projects lasting more than one week, invoices will be sent out each Friday for that week's worth and must be paid in full before work continues the following week.

For monthly property maintenance, payment is due in advance. Invoices must be paid by the first of the month before services are rendered. Any hours accrued beyond the scope of the monthly maintenance contract will be invoiced separately and due upon receipt.
Payment
We accept cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and most major credit cards.

Note regarding credit card surcharge: To cover the cost of processing a credit or charge card transaction, and pursuant to section 5-2-212, Colorado Revised Statutes, a seller or lessor may impose a processing surcharge in an amount not to exceed the merchant discount fee that the seller or lessor incurs in processing the sales or lease transaction. A seller or lessor shall not impose a processing surcharge on payments made by use of cash, a check, or a debit card or redemption of a gift card.
Cancellation
A client may cancel a project by giving me a 24-hour notice. The client will be invoiced for any hours spent up to that point, the cost of materials, and a cancellation fee.
Scheduling
Generally, my work hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday. Exceptions can be made upon request.

Yes, I'm available to work on weekends. In fact, that is sometimes my preference. Let me know if this works for your schedule!
Consultations
If possible, please send pictures and/or videos of the project. This can speed up the quote and scheduling process considerably. If further evaluation is needed, I will conduct a free, on-site consultation.
